Top 5 eBay sales of the week December 9 2013

So, its that time again. The holiday season is here and my sales were consistent (for the most part). Last week my sales were really good and this week they were OK. I’m not really sure why that is but I’m OK with it. I know that this week my sales will increase A LOT. I plan to run a sale from today until Christmas so I can really clear out some inventory for next year. I’m guessing I’ll do a 15-20% off everything sale just to get some product out of my house so I can start fresh for next year. Well, enough with the small talk, let’s get into the sales from last week.

Clairol Hair Dye

Clairol Natural Insticts that sold on ebay

This sale came by total surprise. I re-listed it after it ended and a few hours passed,  all 5 of them sold to the same buyer. I didn’t re-list as the same item, I did the “sell similar” option to get it a new item number and make it a new listing altogether. I’m not sure why this works, but I am so happy it does! I bought these from a Salvation Army quite a while ago for $2 each. I wasn’t sure how long it would take to sell all of them but I didn’t come down on the price and I’m glad I didn’t. Since all of them sold to the same buyer, I couldn’t ship first class mail. I had to put them all in a box and it weighed 3 pounds and 3 ounces :-(.

Covergirl Pressed Powder Make-up

Well, here is another beauty product I was testing out. I bought six of them at Value Village for $1 each and again, wasn’t sure how long they would take to sell. The buyer only bought one set of 2 but that is fine with me. I did have the price higher initially but it didn’t have many viewers or watchers. I lowered the price and finally got one to sell.

Cutter and Buck Striped Polo Shirt

Cutter and Buck Polo shirt that sold on ebay

I FINALLY got these two shirts to sell! I’ve been sitting on these two shirts for months and finally they sold. I was surprised that they sold to two different buyers in the same week! Cutter and Buck is a good brand but now I know not to buy them anymore because they take FOREVER to sell. These were new with tags and still took a while to sell. Hmm, not too sure why that is but it’s a lesson learned. I bought both of these shirts for $3.79 each from Goodwill and sold them for $17.99 plus shipping.

Jack Nicklaus Ugly Golf Sweater

Jack Nicklaus Ugly Golf Sweater

I tried so hard to list this sweater as an “Ugly Christmas” sweater but it didn’t really work :-P. I know it didn’t the Christmas theme anywhere in the stitching but I did add the “Ugly” keyword to the listing. I’m not sure if that helped or hurt the listing. Anyway, I bought this sweater from Goodwill for $3.79 and sold it for $28.99 plus shipping. The pictures did not come out the best for this listing so that could be why it took a while to sell…

Brooks Brothers Blazer Sports Jacket

Brooks Brothers 40R Blazer sports jacket that sold on ebay

I saved the best for last. The buyer sent me a question about the blazer asking about the color. He asked if it was a burgundy or brown blazer (Brown is clearly in the title of the listing) but I answered his question anyway. I told him that my iPad doesn’t always get the colors 100% correct and assured him that the color was brown. Not too long after I replied I got the sale. I always try to answer questions as soon as I get them. It has really payed off and got me some quick sales. I bought this blazer from Goodwill for $6 and I sold it for $30 plus shipping.

So how are the holiday sales going for you? Did you have a profitable week or did you take a loss? Lets chat in the comments!

I work a 9 to 5 during the day, but I still find time to find treasure at thrift stores after work. While I'm not the most experienced seller out here, I love to help others make money by flipping items on eBay. Buying low and selling high is the name of the game. Let's learn together.
